Entry for December 09, 2005

The above is by Ken Craft via the Illinois Sierra Club.

The Environmental Protection Agency proposes to weaken the Toxic Release Inventory requirements.  OMB Watch is organizing a campaign to preserve the public’s right to know about pollution.   The are asking organizations to sign on to a letter which can be found at here..  If your organization wants to join the effort, write  cnorthouse@ombwatch.org.  Indviduals can generate a letter to EPA officials and Congress at here..  OMB’s fact sheet is here.

I wrote the New River Free Press and Southern Appalachian Writers Coop to see if they were interested in signing on as well as a list of friends in writing groups and others.

Speaking of letters, I also sent out information on yesterday’s blog entry on Stanley Tookie Williams.  No news yet from the Governator.  But the widow of one victim has asked for clemency and this  Pacifica News Article questions Tookie Williams’ guilt .
