Entry for November 03, 2005

It’s remarkably warm for this time of year–in the seventies, so on my way to Tennessee last Friday I was suprised to see the leaves turning  It IS November.  So what was I thinking?

Mary Oliver says it well:

In the deep fall
don’t you imagine the leaves think how
comfortable it will be to touch
    the earth instead of the
nothingness of air and the endless
    freshets of wind?

Read in the Roanoke Times about the front seat behind the driver being roped off and a black and white picture of Rosa Parks mounted, to honor her life and contributions to the civil rights movement.
