Root, root, root for the home team?

Nah.  Manuel Dotson and I are going to the last Salem Avalanche game of the season.  It’s not just that they’re a Houston franchise and that’s just too close to Arlington, TX and Shrub’s Rangers.  It’s the new stadium, complete with a hot tub.  Minor league goes big league.  And so my heart is still with the Baby O’s  (see photo above by Chris Gigley, where he’s writing about what he calls  Little Heaven.  We tried to go to the last game last week, even called ahead, but got there to find the parking lot empty and rain glazed.  You couldn’t even see over the fence to catch a glimpse of the field.  Sisters Coffee House wasn’t answering the phone in Princeton, so we drove back to Blacksburg and had a pizza at the Cellar before returning to Roanoke.
